Why do your life suck?

Maybe you’ll find the answers here….

Are you feeling unhappy? Empty? Numb?
Despite of all the things you have achieved, the things you owned, the people surround you?

I feel that sometimes. Now that I am in my 30s, having a steady career, a beautiful family, I can afford to get the things I need — and yet that kind of feeling lingers sometimes, I just can’t deny it.

So I also ask myself, why? Why, despite of everything, I still feel like that? Am I being an ungrateful lil b*tch? Or is there a better explanation?

If you’re dealing with the same, I hope what I find can help you get your answers.

First and foremost, instead of, you know, rejecting this feeling, or feeling embarrassed, and denying that we feel this in the first place — that doesn’t help. Feeling guilty, uh-huh, not helpful either. Understanding that your emotion is fluid, and that it goes up and down, and up and down, sometimes take detour — that’s the first start. No need to make you feel even worse than before by overthinking it (what a note to self, huh?).

Second, I think am addicted to screen. I am addicted to social media, I am addicted to online shopping, and sometimes I am addicted to movies. These are passive activities that, number one: make you lazy, and number two: makes you think that everything else out there is better. And of course, it’s an illusion.

Everybody has their own s*it, and they’re dealing with different stuff. The only thing that makes our lives different from another, is how we respond to life.

And of course, all those things you see in social media, in movies, in any shops make you also feel, that happiness can be bought. Happiness come from the things that you can own where in reality, that’s not the case. It is derived from meaningful relationships, doing what you love to do, giving and sharing and caring, and by connecting with yourself.

And so, yes, I still deal with all these feelings, as I am writing all these reflections and sharing it with you. Because life isn’t perfect, but acknowledging it, understanding what’s going with you and having some ideas of what to do next, if not taking that first step to change for the better — these are all the recipes to actually get a better life, and be a better person.

So, if you don’t think you’re comparing yourself to other people, and yet you still spend a large amount of time scrolling and watching, think twice. Because, who knows deep down it lights a spark inside of you, that makes you doubt the quality of your life.

Good luck!
